AHA 2025 Panel on Immersive Reality and the Black Diaspora

I had the pleasure to present at the 2025 American Historical Association conference alongside the amazing idris brewster (Kinfolk Tech Foundation) and Topher Maraffi (NCSU) on the panel “The Power of Immersion: Experiencing Histories of the Black Diaspora through Virtual and Augmented Reality.” idris talked about the extraordinary work of Kinfolk in reimaging and reproducing the monumental landscape of cities throughout the US. Topher highlighted the deep collaborations with Gullah-Geechee elders in the MitchelvilleXR project. I represented the RemediesAR collective, highlighting the historical context around the Remedies church and museum and the conceptual design for the memorial.
